my kids LOVE it February 24, 2010 A Back (Indianapolis IN) I think anything from Leap Frog is fun & educational - this toy is def. one to go to after your kids master the Leap Frog Fridge Phonics.
Fun play with letters and words February 20, 2010 J. Lueders Our 3-year-old daughter is having a great time with this toy. She loves the auditory feedback she gets when she places the letters in the slots and creates a word that the program recognizes. It has 3 different levels of difficulty, going from learning the sounds that each letter makes, to spelling 3-letter words, to doing a word hunt by spelling a 3-letter word that the program gives you. For the hunt, the program will say the letter it wants you to look for, and a red light blinks above the corresponding slot. It uses lower cased letters, and the vowels are red. There is a setting that allows for 2 different degrees of volume, and you can power it off. We weren't diligent with turning it off, and we went through the batteries within 2 months. It has definitely been a worthwhile purchase. I'm glad we got the one with 3 letters and not the one with only one letter.
Lad - L A D - You put 3 letters in 1.2.3. the word Lad is what you see! February 12, 2010 Andrew G. Avance (Tulsa, OK USA) Great little toy. Our daughter walks by the fridge numerous times a day and everytime wants to stop and show us a word she learned (she is currently 2yrs 6months). I can already see that we will be getting the next size bigger(four letters) in a few months. Everything about the toy is great and educational. If I had complaints it would be in regards to the choice of words and the priority set to those words. For example: the word LAD is taught from the very begining and is frequented. Seems the word PUB comes up often as well. The toy really likes to do a ryhming word so these words come up often but I can think of several words my daughter needs to know before LAD and PUB. Overall this is an awesome toy that will be played with for five to twenty minutes a day for months and seems durable enough to last through a few kids before it might break, especially if left on the fridge instead of carried around and thrown like ours has survived thus far. Also, if you're looking to buy a gift that won't be at the bottom of the toy box this would probably be a good idea. Oh, and one other thing I like to see in reviews. I purchased this toy in December 2009 and it was on sale for somewhere around $[...] at amazon.
Great toy for a child January 22, 2010 D. Moorehead (F.C.Nebr.) It is a fun toy for a child . He plays with it all the time.
great toy! January 18, 2010 Grace O'hara-shea (Burlington, VT) Hours of fun. My 2 yr old loves it and will sing along with the alphabet song. Great toy, worth the money.
