Product Description This handy storage chest and bookshelf will house toys and games and stuffed animals galore, and also provide a nifty bookcase for storing toddler's reading literature. It is sturdy and will provide storage for years. Easy assembly by an adult. It has a back panel in the bookcase to prevent books and other items from falling off the back side of the unit.

Nice Toy Storage. July 31, 2010 J. Perkins (Abingdon, VA USA) Bought this recently for my second child's toys. I have an earlier version of this toy chest that does not have the second shelf, just a single platform across the top of the box. A few observations: 1. The quality of both seems to be very good. 2. The new one seems to be bigger (wider across the front). 3. Yes, the new one is in two pieces and must be screwed together, but that was not a problem. It took about five minutes, tops. I recommend using a drill to drill a small pilot hole for the screws. The two pieces fit together snugly at this time. 4. The threads of the screws are exposed inside the toy box, but I think it would be very hard for a child to injure himself on these screws. If you are worried, you could cover the threads with masking or electrical tape. 5. You can see outlines of the toys through this chest, but I do not believe that the plastic is thinner than previous versions. This is more a result of the color of the plastic than the thickness of the plastic. The new chest is white while our old one is a darker tan color. In summation, this is a large, well-built toy chest that holds lots of toys, big and small. My soon-to-be toddler loves to just stand there and get all the toys out. Every night we put them back. Then repeat.
Just what I was looking for! June 26, 2010 eubie Easy to assemble. Saw it in the store (and on Craigslist) a few weeks later, but for the ease of delivery, it was worth the Amazon online price. Very roomy inside for toys. A little bit awkward for shelving books, not all books fit well, but storage baskets work great.
awsome toy box! May 22, 2010 Hannah Millican (Beaverton, Oregon United States) I looked and looked for a toy box and they are all so expensive! its crazy! I found this at target, but total (with shipping) it was over 200$.. yikes! so i bought it here on amazon. i dont think i have ever been happier with anything ive bought. my daughter loves it, she crawls right in and plays with her toys, she thinks the flap on it is fun to push in. she even likes reaching up and getting her books! the big ones we just put on their sides and that works fine. as far as i can tell it is pretty durable, it doesnt wobble and when she climbs in it doesnt bend or anything. the screws are fairly easy to get to from the inside, so i put duck tape over the exposed parts so if she touches them they dont cut her. i give this five stars and would recommend it to anyone! its so great!
toy box issues April 12, 2010 T. Bartley This product seemed durable at first. We bought it 5 months ago. Down the right(if you are facing it) side of the lower white part there is a seam where they have joined two pieces. Ours has developed a crack where the two pieces have come apart. It is a perfect, straight crack. Ours isn't even full or have alot of heavy things. My son is just 17 months, so he hasn't abused it. I am going to contact Step2 to see if they will replace.
Love this toy box! March 23, 2010 P. Ferrugia 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Just got it last night and put it together in about ten minutes! I was worried it would not be big enough for all my grandkids toys at my house but after putting all their toys in it and on it, there was still 1/2 the room in the toy box itself. It is very big but works beautifully. I cannot wait for them to come over and see it! This is going to be a great way for them to keep thier toys picked up at my house instead of having them all over the living room. I am very happy with this product. The top will not slam shut on the kids like the old toy boxes used to, so its safe for the little ones. I am very happy with this purchase and would highly recommend to anyone. My sister came over and she now wants one for her grandson.
