Product Description Worth every penny. Strikingly beautiful provisions for early learning! Beautifully embossed, excellent quality, elegant design. 28 blocks: 4 alphabets, 3 sets of numerals, 27 different animal pictures. Rolling, sturdy wagon for play & storage. Renewable basswood; non-toxic inks. Made in USA. Ages 3+
Editorial Review Like the alphabet blocks in Grandma's attic, this set of 28 wooden blocks features carved letters with fancy scroll borders and simple ink drawings. Individual blocks feature four sides with different colored letters. One side has a number, one side has a picture and spelling of the object below it, such as an owl or duck. Unlike Grandma's blocks, however, these are printed with nontoxic color ink. And to avoid destroying nonrenewable forests, they're made of basswood that's cut from industry-owned and managed land in Michigan. The blocks come inside a nostalgic, wooden pull-toy wagon. Toddlers can load up the wagon and make household deliveries. The blocks can also be used to make all kinds of imaginative structures and, of course, as a tool for becoming familiar with numbers and letters. --Gail Hudson

Love these blocks! July 12, 2010 New Dad I've never written a product review before, but these blocks have inspired me to start. We bought them for our son for his 1st birthday (even though the product info states that they are for 2-year olds+). We looked at the Melissa&Doug blocks too, but we liked the Uncle Goose blocks much better because they are bigger, and made in the USA. Each block is a perfect cube, and the workmanship on this set is first rate. The wagon is cute too, good for storage of the blocks, a flat surface for stacking them, or as a frame when we spell out words with the blocks. Our son loves knocking the blocks down (after daddy stacks them), and he is starting to enjoy stacking them too. Highly recommended product.
Great purchase and very child safe July 5, 2010 Evans N. Fernandes (San Jose, CA (USA)) Like most parents, I'm particular about the quality and finishing of toys. I rate this highly compared to other toys trying to achieve the same purpose.
Classic, quality toy February 20, 2010 D. Sobotka (San Diego, CA United States) We bought these blocks for our 10 month old daughter's first Christmas. I knew we wanted to get her alphabet blocks, and I was drawn to them after reading all the positive feedback here. Then I saw they were made in the USA, and I was sold. I'm so glad I spent a little more to get the version with the wagon, as it neatly stores all the blocks. When we first opened the box, the smell of the fresh wood instantly confirmed the GREAT quality of the blocks. The blocks are a great size and painted beautifully. We are having so much fun building towers and knocking them down! She loves dumping them out of the wagon and putting them into a bucket, too. When she's older, I'm sure we'll have fun naming the animals, spelling words, and even doing math with the numbers! We couldn't be happier... and we highly recommend!
A Quality product that keeps baby busy! February 6, 2010 A. Timm (NY United States) These are beautiful blocks! the cart them come is is a must for storage. I highly recommend this product - baby shower/birthday gift or for your own child- these will last generations! And your supporting USA made toys!
Heirloom Quality Toy December 10, 2009 MomKD (NC) I purchased these blocks for my 7 month old daughter's first Christmas. I wanted to give her something special that would have longevity, encourage open-ended play, and was natural and made in the US. These blocks fit all of my criteria and then some. They're beautiful to look at and the craftsmanship is obvious. The wagon is not only functional but well-made and fits a multitude of uses. I think my two year old son is going to enjoy playing with these as well and I may have to purchase another set for him.
